Research, Innovation and Technology Transfer Desk (RITT)

details

The Research, Innovation & Technology Transfer Desk (RITT) of the Department of Management and Economics is a strategic initiative designed to enhance the Department’s academic, entrepreneurial, and technological activities. Aligned with the goals of the 2023–2025 University Strategic Plan and the 2024–2025 Departmental Strategic Plan, the RITT Desk serves a dual purpose: facilitating technology transfer by promoting the dissemination of research outcomes and fostering collaboration between academia and the business community, while also offering operational support to companies and research groups—particularly in the areas of project management, accounting, and regulatory compliance for Research & Development initiatives. The RITT Desk’s activities focus on two main areas. The first is the support of research and development management, providing assistance with regulatory compliance, resource optimisation, and financial sustainability. The second centres on the enhancement of intellectual property, encompassing patent management, licensing, technology transfer, fundraising, and the creation of innovative start-ups. Acting as a bridge between the university and the business sector, the RITT Desk contributes to expanding the network of national and international partners, attracting investors, and developing cutting-edge projects. Through its operational structure, it aims to reinforce the Department’s position as a centre of excellence in innovation and technology transfer, generating value for academic staff, researchers, students, and enterprises alike.

Details

The Strategic Unit for Project Development and Funding (USPBA) enhances the Department of Management and Economics’ capacity to engage effectively in national and international funding calls, addressing an organisational gap at the university level. USPBA coordinates and supports project development activities, identifies funding opportunities, fosters collaboration with public and private stakeholders, and provides targeted training to strengthen project development skills among department members. Key initiatives of the Unit include the creation of a regularly updated database of funding opportunities, an annual calendar of priority calls, and the establishment of a Technical-Scientific Committee to ensure a strategic and structured approach to funding applications.
